What is the conspiracy theory behind the Neil Armstrong landing on the moon?

You're right about the flag waving thing. I can't believe people cite that as "evidence" of a conspiracy. Yeah right, I guess someone must have the stage door ajar and a draft got in. Pathetic.

All of the conspiracy "theories" are not only flat out false, they depend on people who know nothing about the specific science of the issues that the theorists blabber on about.
Phil Plait has an excellent website that goes into all of the absurdities of the conspiracy loons.
You are right, the reasons that the flag moved was that an astronaut was then moving the pole rig that the flag was hung on. Also, the Lunar surface, while it was looser dust right at the surface, it was much harder only a couple of inches lower down. So, when sticking a flagpole into the ground, the astronauts (In pressurised and bulky suit that really limited their mobility and dexterity) trying to work the pole in, moving it and it's flag back and forth. But, once they let go of the flagpole, it stopped moving as soon as the resonances from the astronauts' working on it stopped.
There are a lot more such lunacies, and all of them are easily debunked on Phil Plait's site.
On the topic of good Apollo videos, I would recommend Magnificent Desolation, its only 40 minutes long, but very well done. Another one would be From The Earth To The Moon, a
12 part miniseries done by HBO Films about a decade ago. It tells the story of all of Apollo, and does it through re-enactments. Tom Hanks had a hand in both of those.
It all really happened and it was very cool.

The conspiracy claim has its origins with the Flat Earth Society that sued NASA for publicizing images showing the earth to be round. In their minds the earth is flat… Current conspiracy nuts work with the same kind of logic. Everything is a conspiracy so the moon landings must be too… Some capitalize on some peoples thirst for conspiracies and distribute DVDs and books claiming it was all a hoax. FOX jumped on the bandwagon with their moon hoax "documentary". Conspiracy nuts have been big business for them since the X-Files. And others claim the landings were faked so they can get publicity for their special effects company! I´m going to give you one link example of a hoaxer.
