mkstevens, You don’t just decide to go to the moon and check out a Saturn Five at the Emerald Isle at Cape Canaveral. You need a mandate, support in Congress, funding and you have to design and develope the technology to make it happen. We developed the knowledge of what it takes to get there in the ’60s. All we’ve lacked is the billions to pay for the program. They cut funding, cut the Apollo program short once the goal was achieved because the politicialns didn’t give a about the science.
