Why do so many people believe in conspiracy theories?

Posted by admin as conspiracy theories

Why do so many people believe in conspiracy theories? Even when there is a mountain of proof that they aren't true?

The US government doesn't allow the average person to KNOW everything about any one subject. There are high level folks in government who don't even know some things. Conspiracy theories are just that - theories - until they are proven otherwise. In a land which touts many freedoms we have much that is kept from the public. Therefore, anything that you think you may have PROOF that suggests certain THEORIES aren't real may be lacking in the proof actually. Even now, things are being allowed into the public media wise which were withheld for over 50 years; which, by law, is how long something like the Kennedy assassination, UFO's in New Mexico, etc. are kept completely sealed AND then only very select documents are released.

Because they don't like the truth, and they don't trust the system.

Because a human being trust his pals more than a 100 scholars and scientists. Science can be hard to understand, and very often seems to be contrary to "common sense". "Evryday knowledge" is easier to understand, gives a quick answer, so it is easy to say: it must be true! Like: the earth is plain, or: when it thunders, it is the God Thor who drives around in his wan, swinging his hammer. Alligators in the NY underground etc.
Take a look at Snopes: You're right, it is incredible what you can make people believe.

The complete lack of supporting evidence is only further proof that the conspiracy is working.

because they are real….not all are real, but there are conspiracys! what better way to cover it up then to make proof!

No, no and no. Because they are FUN! Who wants to believe that it was a boring weather balloon when it could be ALIENS?! Aliens, though I don't believe in them, scare the crap out of me! Why was the X-files so popular? What about the Pretender? Or the DaVinci Code? Its all nonsense and obviously fabricated, but for some reason everyonce in a while I want to believe there is an Agent following me, or I have to go on the run. If it actually happened, that may be a different story, but it makes for a good fantasy!
